W5ECO/R Repeater Information
To use the autopach
Always listen before you transmit to ensure no one else is on the repeater
Transmit with your call sign indicating you intention to use the patch
"N5FCC to the patch"
Unkey and listen for a few seconds to ensure no one has emergency traffic
Key your radio and dial the 10 digit number you wish to call and then unkey
Within a few seconds you should hear it start to ring. If you get some Morse code (err) that says it didn't get all of your digits properly. To bring the patch down, enter a # (pound or number sign).
The auto patch will time out in 3 minutes.
If you are using a hand held radio ensure that you keep the antenna as vertical as possible to ensure that you achive the maximum signal strength into the repeater
Remember to follow FCC rules regarding language, business rules, music, etc.
At the conclusion of your call announce your FCC call sign again and whom you spoke to "N5FCC spoke to my spouse, bringing down the patch" and the pound it down by pressing the # on your DTMF keypad
